It is no secret that good sleep is vital to attaining and maintaining good health. Your sleeping habits or ability to sleep well can affect your mood, brain function, energy levels, immune responses, and the overall health and function of your body.

Of course, if you’re waking up tired every morning due to health issues that may be contributing to your inability to sleep, you should consult your physician. But if you just want some help keeping track of the number of hours of sleep you get every night (and being able to jot down some notes if needed) then these Free Printable Sleep Trackers are exactly what you’ve been looking for!

The Sleep Trackers (sometimes also called a sleep diary, sleep log, or sleep journal) below are available in various layouts and methods (there are a number of monthly sleep trackers that allow for a full month’s tracking as well as an annual and weekly tracker) for tracking your zzz’s. Whether you prefer to jot in the time you went to sleep and the time you woke up or you’d like to simply shade or circle the number of hours you ended up sleeping we’re sure you’ll find something here to suit your needs.

If you’re trying to get more/better sleep starting tonight, try implementing some of these well-known tips:

  1. Prepare your room by making it as dark and quiet as possible.
  2. Slightly cooler temperatures have been shown to lead to better sleep.
  3. Avoid the use of electronics an hour or two before bedtime. This includes your phone.
  4. Keep your room distraction-free. Put TVs, phones, computers, and other electronics in another room for the night.
  5. Try to get yourself into a sleeping schedule and be consistent. Go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. Even on weekends and vacations.
  6. Stop eating and drinking several hours before bedtime.
  7. Both physical and mental exercise/exertion during the day have been shown to help with one’s sleep.
  8. Exposure to sunlight during the morning and day can also lead to better sleep.
